Living Expenses in Canada (Canada vich Rehan de Expenses)

It is big question for every one how much i have to spent in GTA Toronto or other big cities after family settlement. there is following list of expenditure which the people are suppose to spent when they are 4 in family.

Basic Expenses:

1. Grocery:    250 $ to 500$ a month
2. Home Rent: 1200$ to 1500 per month
  • Basement Rental cost around 1000+
  • Apartment in Rental building cost around 1200+
  • Renting a good Condo1500+
3. Bus Pass: ~131$ per month per person or Bus/Subway Ticket: ~ 3.75 $ per trip
  • Bus passes are more expensive in Big Cities. e.g. Toronto GTA pass is 61$ per week
4. Cell phone: 40 $ per month to 120$ (If you take any mobile phone deal)
5. Electricity: 30-50$ per month if not included in rent

Additional Expenses:

1. Car insurance: 200-500 $ per month (assuming new license)
      If you are in rural area then insurance will be less - 150-250 $ only
2. Car installment: 300 – 400 $ per month 
3. Gas/petrol charges: 150$ to 300$ per month (Depend upon usage)
4. Internet + Cable TV = 50$ to 100$ (Only for Permanent Resident and sometime cable is included in Rent)
5. Private home based day Care: 3$ per hour
6. Registered Private day care: 50$ to 70$ per day (if eligible,Can apply for government subsidy)

Optional/ good to have things:

1. Rental home insurance: 15-30 $ per month
2. Personal Life Insurance:   ~25$-100$ onward per month per person. Depend on insurance amount etc.
3. Kids RESP Education plan:  any amount up to ~ 245 per month per kid under 18 year of age

Other Fixed Asset expenses i.e Furniture 

1.Sofa & table: 500$ – 1200$ (Depend upon affordability)
2. Mattress, its base and iron frame = 200$ -400$ (Our Choice)
3. Microwave: ~60$ to 100 $
These are all estimate expenses depend upon experience of people. but if you wanna take my estimate of living expenses, it will b useful for you.
